“Anambra Government Shuts Down Church and Shrines of Notorious Native Doctor Onyeze Jesus”
The Anambra State Government, through the Agunechemba Security Squad, has sealed off the church and shrines belonging to a controversial billionaire native doctor known as Onyeze Jesus, also called Aka Na Sa Uchu, which translates to “the hand that washes off bad luck.” Authorities also shut down his infamous Bethsaida River, where it is alleged that Onyeze Jesus performs rituals to “wash off” ill luck from young men and women, helping them become millionaires in the process.
The crackdown follows concerns from traders who deal in local livestock and totems for traditional worship, who are now counting their losses as the government targets fake native doctors and their congregations.
Prince Kenneth Emeakayi, the Special Adviser to Governor Charles Soludo on Community Security, addressed the media after Onyeze Jesus was apprehended at his home in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area. He explained that the action was taken following multiple petitions from the public and videos circulating online that depicted Onyeze Jesus promoting his controversial practices.
Emeakayi clarified that the government’s intervention was in line with the Anambra Homeland Security Laws, emphasizing that the laws do not target any particular religion or belief system. He stated, “As you can see, we are here at the premises of Onyeze Jesus aka Aka Na Sa Uchu due to petitions from the public, as well as the videos online where he advertises the charms and rituals he performs for people.”
The official further noted, “The Homeland laws of Anambra State are not against any religion or form of worship, as there is freedom of religion. We are simply acting in response to concerns and ensuring that the laws are upheld.”
This action marks a significant move by Anambra’s government in its continued effort to curb the activities of self-styled native doctors and protect the public from fraudulent practices.
