The Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has firmly rejected accusations from the All Progressives Congress (APC) that it orchestrated an attack on APC members on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
In a statement, the PDP demanded that the APC provide irrefutable proof that the ruling party in Zamfara was involved in the incident, urging them to present clear evidence to the public. According to the PDP’s Publicity Secretary, Haliru Andi, the APC should be able to offer concrete details, including the names of any PDP members allegedly involved and evidence that the attackers were indeed affiliated with the party.
Andi also warned the public not to believe in any unsubstantiated claims by the APC unless such allegations are verified in a competent court of law.
Furthermore, the PDP called on the APC to address its own internal issues, particularly urging the party’s leadership and its member in the House of Representatives, Abdulmalik Zubairu, to respect the rule of law. Zubairu was accused of organizing an unlawful assembly in Bungudu town, a matter the PDP believes should be addressed by the authorities.
The PDP assured the people of Zamfara that it would cooperate with security agencies to hold Zubairu accountable for any disruptions caused by his controversial gathering, which the PDP claims was fueled by a rented crowd.
In conclusion, the PDP reminded the APC that the 2027 political campaigns were still far off, urging all political parties to allow the citizens of Zamfara to live in peace without unnecessary disturbances.
