Portable Turns Himself In to Lagos Police
Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba. The development was confirmed on Wednesday by the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.
Hundeyin stated, “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.”
This followed a video posted by Portable on Tuesday, where he referred to himself as a “madman” undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta. In the video, he appealed to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government, pleading for forgiveness after the police issued a declaration for his arrest.
Despite his plea, Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, insisted that Portable must surrender for investigation. The singer’s voluntary submission to the SCID marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation surrounding his case.
