“Ex-First Lady Blasts Aiyedatiwa for ‘Callous’ Delay of Fire Trucks—Vows to Defend Aketi’s Legacy”
In a passionate statement on her X handle, the former First Lady of Ondo fiercely reacted to the recent commissioning of the Ondo Investment House and the new fire trucks by Governor Aiyedatiwa. She made it clear that she would fight relentlessly to preserve her late husband’s legacy.
She expressed her discontent over the delay in distributing the fire trucks, which were paid for and delivered while her husband was still in office. According to her, this delay was nothing short of “uncharitable,” highlighting the lack of urgency in putting the trucks to use when needed most.
“I knew when the fire trucks were delivered,” she said. “Why keep them for over two years to gain political leverage? The trucks could have saved lives during the past two years, but they were parked for political reasons.”
Several women had reached out to her, questioning whether the trucks seen at the Old Governor’s Lodge were the same ones that had been delayed for so long. “Yes, they are the same!” she confirmed.
She went on to accuse Governor Aiyedatiwa of being deceitful and pretending to be innocent about the situation, calling it the most “annoying” aspect of his handling of the matter. She vowed to continue calling out the governor’s actions.
“The evil men do lives after them,” she said, stressing that she would not let Aiyedatiwa tarnish her husband’s legacy. “As long as I’m alive, I will not allow him to succeed in doing so.”
Government officials approached for comments declined to speak on the matter. One top official, who chose to remain anonymous, suggested that it was best to ignore the former First Lady’s outcry.
