“Governor Adeleke Takes a Stand: No Clash with APC Over Local Government Control!”
Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged the newly inaugurated local government council chairmen in Osun State to avoid entering council secretariats to prevent clashes with APC members. The political standoff between the PDP and APC over control of the secretariats has escalated, exacerbated by conflicting court rulings on the legitimacy of the council elections.
At the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected council chairmen in Osogbo, Adeleke emphasized the importance of staying clear of the secretariats, as APC members, aided by security operatives, had forcefully taken control of the offices. The governor noted that a judgment from the Osun State High Court had declared the positions of the chairman and councilors vacant before the February 22 election, setting the stage for the newly elected officials to assume office.
