“NNPP Suspends Lawmakers Over Anti-Party Actions”
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano has taken disciplinary measures against several of its lawmakers, including a senator and key federal representatives, for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.
Alhaji Hashimu Dungurawa, the state chairman of NNPP, revealed the party’s actions during a press briefing in Kano on Monday. The affected lawmakers include Senator Kawu Sumaila, representing Kano South, as well as Alhaji Abdullahi Sani Rogo (Rogo Federal Constituency), Alhaji Abdullahi Rurum (Rano/Kibiya), and Ali Maadakin Gini (Dala Federal Constituency).
Dungurawa expressed the party’s deep disappointment over the conduct of these legislators, especially since they had been elected on the NNPP platform. He pointed out that although the lawmakers had been given complementary tickets during the party’s primaries, they allegedly acted in ways that went against the party’s principles and values.
The NNPP’s disciplinary actions reflect the party’s commitment to upholding its interests and maintaining the integrity of its platform.
