Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has made notable appointments, starting with the appointment of Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). Dr. Fasoranti, a medical doctor, is also the son of Pa Reuben Fasoranti, the National Leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere.
In a statement released by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, it was revealed that Dr. Fasoranti was previously the chairman of the Ondo State Hospitals Management Board before being appointed to this new position by the governor.
Along with the SSG appointment, Governor Aiyedatiwa reappointed key officials in his administration, including the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo, and the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac. The governor also reappointed five special advisers who served in the previous administration and upgraded the position of Abiola Olawoye, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Infrastructure, Lands, and Housing, to Special Adviser.
These appointments came shortly after Governor Aiyedatiwa resumed his office as the 7th democratically elected governor of Ondo State on Monday, marking the beginning of his leadership with strategic decisions to strengthen the state’s governance.
