The Anambra State Government has unveiled its groundbreaking Homeland Consciousness Initiative, aimed at encouraging indigenes of the state, particularly those living in Lagos, to refocus on the development of their home state. Set to launch on Sunday, March 2, 2025, this initiative is championed by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and it seeks to inspire Anambra indigenes in the diaspora to view their homeland as a prime destination for investment and engagement.
Leo Chiegboka, the Liaison Officer for the state in Lagos, addressed the press, emphasizing the importance of this initiative in fostering a deeper connection with the state. “This is a time for insightful conversations that will shape the future of our homeland,” Chiegboka remarked. “Our goal is to reinforce our shared identity, commitment, and responsibility as Ndi Anambra, both at home and abroad.”
Chiegboka further stressed that Anambra is not just a geographical location but a place rich in heritage, pride, and history—a foundation for a prosperous future. The Homeland Consciousness Initiative is designed to bridge the gap between the state and its diaspora, uniting them with the common goal of sustainable development.
“This initiative is about strengthening our bonds, harnessing our collective resources, and creating pathways for meaningful progress,” Chiegboka continued. “We will engage in vital discussions about economic empowerment, investment opportunities, infrastructural development, and our role as active stakeholders in the future of Anambra.”
The event will provide a platform for strategic dialogue and collaboration, fostering new possibilities for growth and prosperity in the state. The Anambra Government believes that with active participation from its diaspora, particularly those in Lagos, the state can unlock untapped opportunities and accelerate its development.
