Federal High Court Sets July 28 to September 16 for 2025 Annual Vacation
The Federal High Court of Nigeria has announced that its 2025 annual vacation will begin on Monday, July 28, and end on Monday, September 16, with full court operations resuming on Tuesday, September 17.
The announcement was made in a statement released by the court’s Director of Information, Mrs. Catherine Oby Christopher, in Abuja.
During the vacation period, judicial activities will be limited to urgent matters only, and only three core divisions of the court—Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—will remain operational for such cases.
“Consequently, the litigating public will be at liberty to approach only the above-listed courts located nearest to them,” the statement read.
The following judges have been designated to preside over vacation matters:
-
Abuja Division: Justice Emeka Nwite and Justice M. S. Liman
-
Lagos Division: Justice Deinde I. Dipeolu and Justice Musa Kakaki
-
Port Harcourt Division: Justice P. M. Ayua and Justice A. T. Mohammed
The vacation schedule aligns with Order 46, Rule 4(d) of the Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2019.
In his message to the judiciary, Chief Judge Justice John Tsoho extended his best wishes to his colleagues, expressing hope that they enjoy a restful and refreshing break.
