NBA Nyanya-Karu Elders Pass Vote of Confidence on Branch EC-NBA for its Transparency and Integrity
The elders of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Nyanya-Karu Branch have issued a unanimous vote of confidence in the branch’s Electoral Committee, EC-NBA 2025, commending its leadership and conduct ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a resolution adopted at a recent meeting, the elders praised the committee, chaired by the NBA’s 3rd Vice President, Mrs. Zainab Garba, for what they described as a highly transparent, fair, and credible pre-election process. The committee is responsible for overseeing the June 19, 2025, elections for the branch.
The motion for the vote of confidence was moved by Mr. Morris Osakwe and seconded by Mr. Abubakar Animiokhali, who also signed a formal statement on behalf of the elders.
According to the statement, the EC-NBA Nyanya-Karu has demonstrated integrity by resisting pressure from Mr. Ibolo and his preferred candidates, whom they allege attempted to influence the screening of candidates and voters. The committee’s refusal to compromise, they said, showed “a strong commitment to fairness and transparency.”
The elders further commended NBA President Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, for constituting a “formidable and transparent” electoral committee, describing his intervention as timely and critical to ensuring a credible election process.
“The screening exercise produced a credible list of qualified candidates and eligible voters,” the statement read. “This process has helped restore confidence in the branch’s electoral integrity and promotes the unity and progress of the association.”
The elders concluded by pledging continued support to the Electoral Committee as it works toward delivering a successful election on June 19.
