NBA Nyanya-Karu and Bwari Branches Elect New Leaders for 2025–2027 Term
Two branches of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in the Federal Capital Territory — Nyanya-Karu and Bwari — have successfully conducted their branch elections, ushering in new leadership to steer the affairs of the bar from 2025 to 2027.
The NBA Nyanya-Karu Branch held its election on Wednesday, June 19, 2025. At the close of polls, Alexander Ebi Edim, Esq. emerged as the new Chairman of the Branch, while Mazi Echika Ejido was elected Secretary. The election was peaceful and well-attended by members of the branch.
In a similar democratic exercise, the NBA Bwari Branch conducted its election on Friday, June 21, 2025. Emmanuel Nwude, Esq. emerged victorious as Chairman after a closely contested race, defeating Maxwell Opara, Esq. by a slim margin of three votes. Paul Eboigbe, Esq. was elected Secretary of the Branch.
The newly elected executives of both branches are expected to be sworn into office next week, marking the beginning of their two-year tenure.
Members of both branches have expressed optimism about the future of the bar under the new leadership and look forward to a period of growth, reform, and increased engagement within the Association.
