Alleged forgery: Benue varsity suspends SUG President

The Students Union Government, SUG, of Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University, Benue State, has suspended its president, Comrade Tivkaa Evelyn Terwanger, indefinitely over allegations of forgery, criminal impersonation, gross misconduct, and misappropriation of funds.

The decision was reached unanimously during a plenary session of the Students’ Union Parliament on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.

Following the suspension, the parliament directed Comrade Terwanger to immediately hand over all Students’ Union properties in her possession to the Vice President, Comrade Ogberu Emmanuel Abi, who will serve as Acting President pending the outcome of investigations.

In an official notice, the parliament cautioned members of the public against conducting any business with Comrade Terwanger in the capacity of the university’s Students’ Union president.

The statement further reaffirmed the parliament’s commitment to transparency and accountability, stressing that its actions were in the best interest of the entire student body.
