Shehu Sani reveals why Abuja-Kaduna train derailed

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani, has suggested why the Abuja-Kaduna train derailed on Tuesday morning.

Sani disclosed that the train derailed due to negligence of authorities responsible.

Posting on X, he recalled how passengers had severally complained about their experiences but it was ignored.

He wrote: “The Abuja Kaduna Train that derailed today is a direct result of negligence by the authorities concerned.

“For months, passengers have repeatedly complained about their experience on the track but were ignored.

“The expansive Bush between Kaduna and Abuja is not a place to be treated lightly.”

The Nigeria Railway Corporation, NRC, said the train had derailed between Kubwa station and Asham station.

A statement signed by NRC Managing Director, Kayode Opeifa, said the incident happened around 11.09.

No casualties were, however, recorded.
