NBA Reveal the faces of Lawyers that vandalized its National Conference in Lagos
The faces of the persons alleged to be lawyers who vandalized and looted conference materials at the Nigerian Bar Association Annual General Conference (NBA-AGC) 2022 have been identified.
The revelation was made by the NBA Conference Incident Investigation Committee at the just concluded Nigerian Bar Association National Executive Committee (NBA-NEC) meeting.
Recall that lawyers attending the 62nd Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association in August 2022 had protested over the inadequate supply of conference materials, as some of them could not get their conference bags. The lawyers later became impatient and they led a charge which even the bouncers couldn’t hold off; the accreditation center not only became overcrowded, but was destroyed and vandalised with lawyers looting and carting away conference materials. In a viral video sighted, lawyers were seen destroying registration booths and picking items of their choice due to the unavailability of conference bags.
In keeping with one of his inauguration speech promises, the NBA President Y.C. Maikyau, OON, SAN inaugurated a number of NBA committees in September 2022, one of them being the Conference Incident Investigation Committee, saddled with the responsibility to investigate the said incident; the immediate and remote cause(s) of the same, and identify the persons involved therein.
The Committee in presenting its report at the NBA-NEC meeting released the pictures of the alleged vandal lawyers captured below.
