Akinboro SAN, Akangbe SAN Are The Most Popular Aspirants in NBA 2026 Presidential Election Race – Survey Shows
Former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, and Former Chairman of NBA Lagos Branch, Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, have emerged as the two most popular aspirants in the race for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2026 elections, according to the results of an online opinion poll hosted by Lawblogng.com on WhatsApp.
The survey, which ran from Monday, September 8 to Friday, September 12, 2025, was exclusively targeted at Nigerian lawyers, offering them the opportunity to indicate who they would support in the forthcoming NBA presidential contest.
Out of a total of 859 respondents, Akinboro SAN secured an emphatic lead with 523 votes, representing 60.9% of the total responses. He was trailed by Akangbe SAN, who garnered 244 votes, translating to 28.4% of the total.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Oyinkasola Badejo Okusanya attracted 57 votes (6.6%), while Professor Foluke Dada Lawanson polled 35 votes (4.1%), rounding up the field.
The outcome of the survey clearly highlights the strong momentum of the two Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Akinboro SAN and Akangbe SAN, whose campaigns appear to have struck the deepest resonance among members of the Bar at this early stage.
Although online surveys are not conclusive indicators of electoral outcomes, the Lawblogng.com exercise provides a glimpse into prevailing sentiments among Nigerian lawyers as the countdown to the 2026 NBA elections gathers pace.
