Born in the Bar, Called to the Bar: Beautiful Moment as Lady Barrister Who Bore Child in Law School Celebrates Her Baby’s Call to Bar Years Later
It is a story of destiny and a rare generational triumph in the legal profession, as Barrister Caroline Ekpendu celebrates her daughter, Ogechi Tobias, who is among the new wigs to be called to the Nigerian Bar on September 24, 2025.
The emotional milestone is especially touching because Ogechi was born while her mother was a student at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari, Abuja. Years later, she returned to the same campus to complete her legal studies, and will now be formally called to the Bar by the Body of Benchers.
Sharing her joy, the proud mother took to Facebook to write:
“My Law School baby is finally joining me at the Bar. I gave birth to her while studying at the Nigerian Law School, Bwari Abuja. Years later, she also attended her Law School in the same Campus and will on the 24th of this Month, to the glory of God Almighty, be called to the Bar. Congratulations my daughter. May this be the beginning of an amazing career in the Legal Profession. Amen. Family and friends, please join me in celebration. You are all invited and do say a prayer for her.”
