Niger APC guber candidate says CBN naira swap callous, inhuman
The Niger State gubernatorial flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Umar Mohammed Bago, has described the redesigned Naira notes policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, as callous and inhuman.
Bago stated this during a friendly meeting with the Niger State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Minna.
He distanced the ruling party from the redesigned naira notes, arguing that it was never in tandem with the plans and manifestos of the APC.
He decried the negative impact and consequences of the CBN policy on the party and its candidates vying for various elective positions in the forthcoming general elections in the country.
Bago also noted that the APC believes in a power shift between northern and southern regions which saw to the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as its presidential candidate to ensure fairness and justice.
According to him, “the power currently has to shift to the south that is why, we have Ahmed Bola Tinubu as our APC Presidential candidate. Tinubu is a nationalist and should be given the opportunity as the next president after the tenure of president Muhammadu”.
He further called for patience and endurance on the part of the citizens in view of current difficulties while urging them to turn out en mass to vote peacefully and protect their votes to victory.
