“A Legacy of Valor: ACP Dauda Buba Fika’s Fight for Freedom Against Terrorism”

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dauda Buba Fika, a key figure in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against Boko Haram, has passed away. The news of his death was confirmed on Wednesday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who shared the sad announcement via his X handle. ACP Fika died at approximately 3:30 PM on Tuesday at the National Hospital, Abuja.

ACP Fika’s contributions to the fight against insurgency in Nigeria were monumental. As Commander of Mopol 41, he led several joint security operations across Yobe and Borno states, successfully reclaiming multiple towns that had been overtaken by Boko Haram terrorists. His efforts were particularly significant in the liberation of his own hometown, Fika, which had fallen under insurgent control.

Despite facing personal hardship, including sustaining serious gunshot injuries during an operation in Yobe State in 2017, ACP Fika’s resolve remained unshaken. He continued his fight against terrorism despite the long-term effects of his injuries, receiving extensive medical care until his passing.

ACP Fika’s dedication to Nigeria’s security and his bravery in the face of grave danger have earned him a place in the hearts of many. His death marks the end of a distinguished career and a legacy of unwavering commitment to peace and justice.
