“Abia Local Government Boss Sunday Afurobi Addresses Fake Resignation Letter”
Sunday Afurobi, the Executive Chairman of Umunnochi Local Government Area in Abia State, has raised an alarm over a trending resignation letter that has falsely been attributed to him. The rumors, which circulated over the weekend, claimed that Afurobi had resigned from his position, and a letter purportedly addressed to Governor Alex Otti was attached to the claims.
The forged resignation letter, bearing Afurobi’s signature, caused confusion among the local government staff and supporters in both Umunnochi and Abia State. However, in a bid to clear the air, Afurobi categorically stated that the letter was fake and part of a smear campaign against him. He reassured the public that he had not resigned and that he remained in full charge of the local government.
Afurobi added that his legal team and security agencies were already investigating the situation. “My lawyers and security agencies are currently reviewing the disturbing situation,” he said.
The Umunnochi LGA Chairman further urged the people of Umunnochi to disregard the false reports, remain calm, and continue their support for Governor Alex Otti. He reassured his supporters that the rumor was merely an attempt to destabilize his leadership.
