Adeyanju: “A Government from Hell” as Telecom Tariff Hike Sparks Outrage
Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has lashed out at President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing it as a “government from hell” following the recent increase in telecommunications tariffs. Adeyanju criticized the administration for what he perceives as an intentional drive to inflict more suffering on Nigerians.
His comments come in the wake of the Federal Government’s approval of a 50 percent hike in telecom tariffs, a decision that has sparked significant backlash. The National Association of Telecoms Subscribers has vowed to take legal action over the rise in prices, which marks the first such increase since 2013.
Taking to X, Adeyanju expressed his anger, writing: “They just increased tariffs for all phone calls in the country. The government has vowed that it must finish off Nigerians with suffering. A government from hell.”
Adeyanju further vented his frustration, warning against any defense of the policy: “This year I have zero tolerance for bullshit. If you come to my timeline to defend rubbish, I will block you. You can’t be praising a government that is destroying the lives of Nigerians and the economy daily and defending oppressors.”
His remarks reflect widespread discontent with the tariff hike, which many Nigerians see as another burden in an already challenging economic climate.
