Adhere Strictly to NBA Constitution, Do not Manufacture any Personal rules against Candidates – NBA Vice President Begs Branch Elections Appeal Committee

The 2nd Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Clement Chukwuemeka Ugo Esq, has pleaded with the members of the Appeal Committees set up by the NBA to entertain Appeals from Branch Elections of the Association to strictly adhere to the provisions of the Association’s Constitution in dealing the Appeals before them.

The NBA Leader, admonished the Committee Members to strictly adhere to the wordings of the Constitution as that, according to him, will prevent crisis in the Branches.

Below is his full statement;

PASSIONATE APPEAL TO NBA BRANCH ELECTION APPEAL COMMITTEES!! FROM THE DESK OF 2ND VICE PRESIDENT!!

As many branches across Nigeria queue up for their various branch elections starting from this weekend , it is my peaceful admonition to the committees to use strictly the wordings of the NBA constitution and nothing more in deciding petitions brought before them, in other words :

The various Branch election appeal committees set up by the national body to resolve issues and petitions arising from branches pre and post elections should be guided by the NBA constitution /uniform bylaw as amended in deciding the petitions before them to prevent attracting crisis to be resolved by the VICE PRESIDENTS.

I admonish them on behalf of the Vice Presidents to adhere strictly to the tenets of the NBA constitution and should not manufacture any personal rules to handle what ever petitions that is brought before them.

Any attempt to go contrary to the tenets of the constitution of NBA will amount to amendment of the constitution of NBA which is the exclusive preserve of the AGM.

Election is not a do or die affair as I wish all the branches a rancor free , transparent and peaceful elections. God bless NBA
