After protest, Kano Gov approves reconstruction of collapsed ’Yanshana’ bridge

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has approved the immediate reconstruction of the ’Yanshana Bridge in Kumbotso Local Government Area which collapsed 3 days ago.

The governor made the announcement at the Government House, after residents of ’Yanshana staged a peaceful protest to draw his attention to their plight.

Governor Yusuf assured the protesters that the State Executive Council, at its Wednesday meeting, would give formal approval for the commencement of work on the bridge, which has disrupted residents’ daily activities since it collapsed.

In addition to fixing the bridge, the governor also directed the completion of an abandoned secondary school project in the community.

Governor Yusuf also instructed the Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government to provide land for a new cemetery to serve the people of ’Yanshana.
