Air Peace Expands Fleet with First Embraer 190 Jet, Eyes Second Arrival Next Month
Air Peace has taken a major step in expanding its regional reach with the arrival of its first Embraer 190 aircraft, signaling continued growth and a commitment to enhancing domestic and West African air travel.
The 118-seat aircraft, registered as 5N-CEF, touched down at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed International Airport on Sunday. This marks the airline’s first Embraer 190 in its fleet, with a second unit expected to arrive next month as part of its broader fleet modernization and route expansion strategy.
Speaking on the development, Air Peace spokesperson Osifo-Whiskey Efe said the new aircraft will enhance operational efficiency and passenger experience, especially on underserved and high-demand routes.
“This aircraft brings something fresh to our operations, it’s efficient, environmentally friendly, and designed with passenger comfort in mind,” Efe said. “With a 2-2 seating configuration and a quiet, spacious cabin, it’s perfectly suited for many of our routes, helping us connect more cities and improve the flying experience.”
Efe reiterated the airline’s ongoing commitment to making air travel more accessible and reliable in Nigeria through continuous investment in modern, right-sized aircraft.
Air Peace currently operates a fleet of over 30 aircraft and maintains one of the strongest footprints in Nigeria’s aviation sector. In May 2025, the airline reported an impressive 85% on-time performance rate across its domestic routes, one of the highest in the industry.
Looking ahead to the third quarter of the year, the airline plans to introduce new domestic destinations, deepen its regional presence, and expand international offerings, an ambition supported by ongoing aircraft acquisitions like the Embraer 190.
With this latest addition, Air Peace is not only bolstering its capacity but also reinforcing its role as a key player in reshaping the narrative of air travel within and beyond Nigeria.
