Ajayi: Wike Deserves Minister of the Year Award for Transforming Abuja
The Presidency on Tuesday highlighted the significant changes happening in Abuja under the leadership of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike. Temitope Ajayi, President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, took to X to commend Wike for his determination and hard work in transforming the city.
Ajayi stated that the residents of Abuja would agree that Wike deserves the prestigious Thisday/AriseNews ‘Minister of the Year’ award, noting that the city’s landscape has been rapidly changing due to Wike’s efforts.
He wrote on X: “So Minister Wike didn’t bring that his Port Harcourt musician to sing nyedeba nyedeba for him at the Thisday/AriseNews’ award yesterday night. Most people living in Abuja will readily agree that he truly deserves the Minister of the Year Award. The landscape in Abuja is changing every day with the speed and determination he brings to his work as the Minister of FCT.”
Wike was awarded the ‘Minister of the Year’ title on Monday night during an event organized by Thisday/AriseNews. The award comes after Wike commissioned six major road projects in the FCT over the course of just six days, starting on January 20. These projects spanned all six area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
The news of the road commissioning was shared by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media, Lere Olayinka, underscoring the minister’s commitment to rapid infrastructure development in Abuja.
