Akpata’s Digital NBA App was a Fraud – NBA President, YC Maikyau tell NEC Members
The President of the Nigerian Bar Association, YC Maikyau SAN has branded the NBA App launched with fanfare by the former NBA President Olumide Akpata’s Administration at the 2022 Annual General Conference in Lagos as a fraud.
Maikyau SAN in a report to the National Executive Council at the Pre-AGC NEC 2023 meeting that held in Abuja told the NEC that notwithstanding being paid 27 Million Naira deposit for the App, the company had never deemed it fit to brief him as the New NBA President.
“The very first thing i encountered with these IT people was with the issue, Remember last year at the conference, there was a supposed launch of the NBA App. That thing was a fraud.” the NBA President told NEC Members.
The NBA President told the NEC that one Rotimi Ogunyemi Esq, a member of the NBA Digital Committee wrote to Paystack with instruction to change the NBA email on the payment platform and replace same with a new one fraudulently lying that the NBA email admin was unavailable indefinitely.
The NBA President wondered why a member of the Digital Committee who is a lawyer will attempt to control the NBA payments under the guise of integrating Paystack account with digital NBA App.
The NBA President also spoke to NEC on why he hired his Nephew named Solomon as NBA’s new IT consultant.
