Anambra 2025: AA Candidate Nweke Secures ₦50m Campaign Licence

The Action Alliance (AA) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief Jeff Nweke, has officially secured his campaign licence after paying the statutory fee of ₦50 million to the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA).

The licence, issued on Friday, grants Nweke the legal authority to begin his campaign activities across the state, including the display of campaign posters, the use of branded vehicles, and distribution of campaign merchandise such as vests and banners.

Receiving the licence on behalf of the candidate, the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Mr. Obi Elvis Anayochukwu, presented proof of payment at the ANSAA office and expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the upcoming election.

“We are confident of victory. AA is a well-known party, and Ozo Nweke is a household name across Anambra and beyond,” Anayochukwu stated. “Our campaign will focus on restoring security, attracting both local and foreign investment, and delivering people-centered governance.”

Managing Director/CEO of ANSAA, Mr. Tony Ujubuonu, personally presented the campaign permit to the AA delegation and commended them for complying with the state’s guidelines.

Nweke becomes the fourth governorship candidate to obtain the campaign licence, joining Sir Paul Chukwuma of the YPP, John Nwosu of the ADC, and George Moghalu of the Labour Party. While some candidates and observers have criticized the campaign levy as excessive and potentially illegal, several aspirants have complied in a bid to proceed with their campaign plans without hindrance.

As the 2025 governorship race heats up in Anambra, Nweke’s Action Alliance has signaled its intention to be a serious contender at the polls.
