APC Chairman Declares Tinubu’s Victory in 2027 Inevitable, Dismissing Opposition Claims
The Chairman of the North-Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum, Alhaji Saleh Zazzaga, has expressed unwavering confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in office in the 2027 presidential election. Zazzaga’s remarks come in response to claims by Kano State New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) chairman, Hashimu Suleiman Dungurawa, who warned Tinubu of an impending defeat due to his alleged anti-people policies.
In a statement released on Friday, January 3, 2025, Zazzaga dismissed Dungurawa’s remarks, asserting that Tinubu’s bold decisions, such as the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the Naira, will turn Nigeria’s economy around in time for the 2027 elections. He argued that Nigerians would overwhelmingly support Tinubu due to the long-term benefits these policies would bring.
Zazzaga, who was also a member of the APC Presidential Campaign Council during the 2023 elections, emphasized that the Tinubu-led APC government had made necessary reforms that previous administrations had shied away from. He praised the president for his courage in implementing policies that were crucial for Nigeria’s survival and growth. According to Zazzaga, the positive impact of these reforms, particularly in the areas of the economy and fuel distribution, is already evident and will be fully realized by the time of the 2027 elections.
“There is no magic that will make Tinubu lose the presidential election in 2027. The President is doing well, and his achievements will be appreciated by Nigerians,” Zazzaga declared. He pointed to the recent strengthening of the Naira, improvements in oil production, and the rise in foreign reserves as signs of the positive effects of Tinubu’s policies.
Zazzaga also highlighted how the removal of the fuel subsidy and the floating of the Naira had already addressed long-standing issues in the fuel sector, reducing scarcity and helping stabilize prices. He expressed confidence that, over time, Nigerians would witness further reductions in the cost of petroleum products, ultimately reversing inflation.
The North-Central APC Forum also endorsed Tinubu for a second term, citing his success in areas such as security, appointments, and infrastructure development. Zazzaga pointed out that the Tinubu administration had brought more opportunities and infrastructure projects to the North-Central region than any previous government, and security in the region had improved significantly. He mentioned how the President’s leadership had made it safer for farmers in the North-Central to return to their farms without the fear of insecurity, a sharp contrast to previous administrations.
“The current level of insecurity in the North-Central is far lower than what we experienced before. Thanks to President Tinubu, our people are now able to cultivate and harvest their crops safely,” Zazzaga said.
As the 2027 elections approach, Zazzaga reaffirmed that the North-Central APC Forum would once again rally behind President Tinubu, just as they did in the 2023 elections, to ensure his re-election and the continued progress of the country under his leadership.
