APC responsible for crisis in PDP, Bauchi Gov alleges
Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of causing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He made this accusation during a courtesy visit from PDP’s Board of Trustees, led by Senator Adolphus Wabara, at the Government House in Bauchi on Thursday.
Mohammed, also Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, claimed the APC plants moles within the PDP to keep them informed.
He referenced Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, a PDP member serving under the APC, calling it “baffling” and a “bizarre situation.”
“We have to close ranks. This challenge is not insurmountable, it will be surmounted by the grace of God and we will find a solution to that,” Mohammed said. “It is only PDP with the experience of governance that is being challenged. And you will notice that this is a creation of the other side (APC). They want us to be in disarray.”
Mohammed expressed optimism about the PDP’s capacity to address its crisis. “They (APC) don’t have people that can perform like our members. It is a recognition that PDP has the human capital to deliver Nigeria.”
On his part, Senator Wabara stated that the delegation aimed to discuss the party’s crisis, particularly in Rivers State and the election of a substantive National Chairman. “We, members of the Board, are a select few; those who indeed have the future of this great party at heart.”
Wabara emphasized the PDP’s capacity to rescue Nigeria despite concerns: “We are not happy with what is happening in the party, and I don’t think Nigerians are happy. We know how to address issues and resolve issues in PDP. We will not allow factionalization of ideas or positions to divide us.”
