APC Spokesman Felix Morka Denies Threatening Peter Obi, Calls Allegations False
Felix Morka, the spokesman for the All Progressives Congress (APC), has vehemently denied accusations by Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that he threatened his life. In a statement on Tuesday, Morka clarified that Obi’s claims were false, asserting that he never made any threats against Obi, his family, or anyone associated with him.
Obi had alleged that following his criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in his New Year message, Morka had threatened his life. The former Anambra State governor also questioned whether he had “really crossed the line” after receiving these alleged threats.
The accusations stemmed from Morka’s comments during an interview with Arise TV on January 4, 2025, where he said, “Peter Obi has crossed the line so many times and he has what’s coming to him, and whatever he gets, he should manage it.”
Responding to these claims, Morka emphasized that his remarks were taken out of context. He stressed that nothing he said in the interview or any other forum suggested or implied any threat against Obi or his associates. Morka described Obi’s accusation as a “self-evident malicious lie” and accused the LP presidential candidate of using emotional blackmail for attention.
In his statement, Morka further condemned Obi for spreading misinformation, stating that Obi’s false claim had incited online mobs to make death threats against Morka and his family. He called on Obi to retract his statements and correct the record, urging the LP leader to call his supporters to order.
Morka, who also serves as the national spokesman for the APC, affirmed that he would continue holding opposition figures like Obi accountable, while stressing the importance of accurate, truthful information for public trust and democracy.
He concluded, “As a public figure, Mr. Obi bears a responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information. Instead, he has chosen to peddle falsehoods in pursuit of political gain.”
