Badaru Backs Governor Namadi’s Leadership, Hails Progress in Jigawa
Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, the outgoing Governor of Jigawa State and current Minister of Defence, has expressed no regrets about selecting Governor Umar Namadi as his successor in the 2023 general election. Badaru reaffirmed his confidence in Namadi’s leadership and stated that his choice was grounded in Namadi’s competence and the need for continuity in governance.
Speaking on Sunday at the flag-off of a Citizen Engagement Program in Auyo Local Government, Jigawa State, Badaru commended Governor Namadi for his visionary leadership and the remarkable progress made in less than two years in office. According to Badaru, the social and economic conditions of the people of Jigawa have improved significantly under Namadi’s governance.
Reflecting on his decision during the 2023 campaign, Badaru mentioned that he had publicly assured the people of Jigawa of Namadi’s ability to continue and even improve upon his administration’s work. “I told the people of Jigawa that I had confidence in Malam Umar Namadi’s ability to build from where I stopped and even surpass my achievements,” Badaru said.
Badaru pointed out that Namadi inherited 26 road projects from his administration, with 23 already completed and one of them recently commissioned. Namadi has also initiated 41 new road projects, spanning over 1,000 kilometers across the state.
He further emphasized that Namadi has not only continued inherited projects and programs but has also launched new initiatives under his 12-point agenda. As a result, Badaru believes the state is on the right track to achieving greater prosperity.
“We thank Almighty Allah for giving Malam Umar Namadi the ability to perform wonderfully in line with the Renewal Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the vision of our great party, the APC,” said Badaru. “We are proud of him and will continue to support him as he works to deliver Jigawa to a promising future.”
Also speaking at the event, Alhaji Ahmad Isa Gerawa, a prominent APC leader in Jigawa, underscored the unity of the party in the state. He emphasized that the APC in Jigawa would not allow any divisive elements to disrupt its cohesion. Gerawa urged party members to embrace values like tolerance, perseverance, and inclusiveness in their political activities to ensure success in governance.
