Bauchi Governor Bala Mohammed Slams Tinubu’s Policies, Warns of Economic Strain

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has strongly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, accusing him of implementing policies that are harmful to the nation’s progress and citizens’ well-being. The governor voiced his frustration during a courtesy visit to Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, the Chief Promoter of the Muslim-Muslim Ticket, where he discussed the negative impact of the president’s recent tax reforms.

Governor Mohammed expressed deep concern over what he described as Tinubu’s failure to listen to the voices of the people, particularly regarding the growing hardship resulting from the federal government’s policies. “Tinubu and I are not on good terms because his policies are causing hardship for the citizens,” Mohammed stated, adding that the northern region has been hit especially hard by the proposed reforms.

The governor emphasized that many northern states depend heavily on federal allocations for their economic survival and warned that the tax changes would worsen the already fragile situation, further burdening the region. “The North, unfortunately, heavily relies on federal allocation to survive. The reforms he is proposing will put the region under dire strain,” he added.

Governor Mohammed appealed to Sheikh Jingir, urging him to use his influence to convince President Tinubu to reconsider his stance on the controversial policies. “Thank God you are alive today to use your wise words of wisdom in this regard because us politicians tend to use harsh words. I believe you can inform the change we require,” the governor said.

The Bauchi governor concluded by calling for a more inclusive governance approach, one that considers the needs of all Nigerians, particularly those from economically disadvantaged regions.
