Bauchi State Allocates N400 Million for Computers, N1 Billion for Office Construction in 2025 Budget
The Bauchi State Government has earmarked a significant N400 million in its 2025 budget for the purchase of six computers for the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG). In addition, N1 billion has been allocated for the purchase of land to construct new offices and buildings for the SSG’s office. Furthermore, N170 million will be spent on acquiring a generator to power the SSG’s office.
The announcement comes shortly after Bauchi State Governor, Bala AbdulKadir Mohammed, publicly criticized President Bola Tinubu’s social and economic reforms. The Governor raised concerns over the struggles faced by ordinary Nigerians, urging the government to be more considerate in its decision-making processes and focus on meaningful programs that would alleviate the widespread suffering in the country.
On Wednesday, Governor Mohammed pointedly urged an Islamic cleric who had supported Tinubu’s election to advise the President on the pressing challenges faced by the masses. He emphasized that Nigerians are increasingly frustrated with the lack of practical solutions to their problems and called for more prudent spending decisions by the government.
The 2025 Bauchi State budget allocation reflects an ongoing investment in state infrastructure, though it also brings into focus the broader debate on the efficiency and priorities of government spending at both state and federal levels.
