Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has awarded a total of ₦4 million to four outstanding students from the state who excelled in the 2024 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination. The students—Kawthar Shehu (348), Geoffrey Yakubu (347), Abdullahi Garba (347), and Magaji Umar (333)—were honored during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Education in Bauchi on Tuesday.
Each of the top-performing students received ₦1 million as part of the state government’s initiative to support their higher education goals.
Governor Mohammed, represented by the Head of Service, Yahuza Adamu, emphasized that the gesture was intended to motivate other students to achieve academic excellence. He stated, “This gesture demonstrates our administration’s commitment to investing in human capital development and encouraging outstanding academic performance.”
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Ali Babayo, shared that the initiative was conceived by the ministry to inspire students across the state to strive for greater achievements. The awards reflect the state government’s dedication to fostering a culture of academic success.
