Breaking News: Osun Governor Adeleke submits a budget of N273 billion to the State Assembly.
The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has submitted a budget of N273,908,997,410.00 to the Osun State House of Assembly. This budget is part of the 2024 Appropriation Bill.
During the plenary session on Thursday, Governor Adeleke presented the budget titled “Budget of Reconstruction and Recovery.” He outlined that the budget is divided into N165,654,976,700.00 for recurrent expenditure and N108,254,020,710.00 for capital expenditure.
Adeleke emphasized that the purpose of this budget is to rebuild the state’s struggling economy. He acknowledged that the presentation aligns with the state laws, which require the budget to be presented to the House before the year-end deadline.
The Governor expressed gratitude to the House of Assembly for their cooperation and assured them that the state would progress significantly. He also requested the House’s support in the coming years.
In response, the Speaker of the Assembly, Adewale Egbedun, affirmed the House’s commitment to collaborate with the Executive to ensure the successful implementation of the budget. He stated that the Assembly would approve the budget responsibly, addressing the state’s challenges effectively.
