BREAKING: Tinubu arrives Benue
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State, as tensions rise over a spate of deadly attacks that have left multiple residents dead.
The President landed at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi at approximately 12:58 pm on Tuesday, marking his first visit to the state since the recent wave of violence.
His visit comes in the wake of the gruesome massacre in Yelwata, located in Guma Local Government Area, which has triggered widespread condemnation and grief across Nigeria.
While in Benue, President Tinubu is expected to hold high-level meetings with key stakeholders to discuss the crisis and explore actionable steps toward restoring peace and security in the troubled region.
The visit is seen as a critical response to mounting public pressure and a long-standing demand for the federal government to directly address the worsening insecurity in the state.
