Breaking: Tribunal voids Adeleke’s victory in Osun

 

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Osogbo has annulled the result of the July 16, 2022 Osun governorship poll and declared Adegboyega Oyetola of All Progressives Congress (APC) winner.

Oyetola and APC had petitioned against the victory of the PDP’s Ademola Adeleke who is the incumbent governor of the state.

In delivering the judgement, Justice Tertsea Aorga Kume-led Osun State election petition tribunal held that the witnesses caller by both the petitioners and respondents admitted overvoting and thereby the election declared by the 1st respondent on the July 16, 2022 governorship election was not in compliance with the law.

“The declaration of the 2nd respondent is hereby declared nulls and void,” the Judge held.
