CDS General Musa Vows to Eradicate Criminal Elements, Assures Peace for Nigerians
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, has reaffirmed the Nigerian Armed Forces’ commitment to eliminating criminal elements responsible for the ongoing security challenges across the country. Speaking to journalists during his visit to the military cantonment in Samaru, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Thursday, General Musa assured Nigerians that the military is steadfast in its mission to restore peace and stability.
“We are committed to ensuring that criminal elements causing insecurity are completely removed. Nigerians deserve to live in peace, and the armed forces will not relent until we achieve that,” he declared.
The CDS explained that the visit to the Samaru military base was part of ongoing efforts to assess and enhance operational readiness in addressing insecurity in Southern Kaduna and surrounding areas. He commended the troops for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety of the region.
“Your sacrifices are not unnoticed. We are committed to improving your welfare and ensuring you have the tools and support needed to succeed in your duties,” General Musa told the soldiers. He also urged them to remain steadfast, professional, and to uphold human rights as they continue their efforts to combat insecurity.
Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, the commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, also addressed the troops, encouraging them to maintain their focus and determination in securing the region.
During the visit, the CDS and his entourage, including senior officers from Defence Headquarters, paid a courtesy call to the palace of the Chief of Kagoro, where General Musa reiterated the military’s commitment to fostering unity and security in the area.
Senator Sunday Marshal, representing Kaduna South, expressed his appreciation for the military’s efforts, assuring that there would be continued collaboration between the security forces and the civilian population to ensure lasting peace in the region.
