Christmas Blaze Engulfs FIIRO Office in Lagos, Property Worth Millions Destroyed

A devastating fire broke out at the Federal Institute of Industrial Research (FIIRO) office in Oshodi, Lagos, near Cappa Bus Stop, on Christmas Day, leaving extensive damage in its wake.

The fire, which erupted around midnight, has been raging throughout the night, with rescue teams from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service working tirelessly alongside the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) to control the flames. As of 4 a.m. on Boxing Day, efforts to contain the fire were still ongoing.

While no casualties have been reported, the blaze has caused significant destruction, with property losses running into millions of naira. Firefighters are focused on preventing the fire from spreading to nearby offices and buildings.
