“Claims Are False And Damaging” — Cubana Chief Priest Drags Kenyan Woman Hellen Ati To Court Over Paternity Allegations
Nigerian nightlife mogul and celebrity businessman, Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has launched a legal offensive against a Kenyan woman, Hellen Ati, over what he describes as malicious and false claims that he fathered her child.
For months, Ati has taken to social media, insisting that the flamboyant socialite is the biological father of her son and demanding that he submit to a DNA test to prove otherwise.
In her latest online outburst, the Kenyan woman taunted Chief Priest, dismissing his legal threats.
“Na Kenya we dey, not Nigeria where you think you can use your money,” she declared in a video, daring him once again to take a DNA test. “If you’re not the father, you shouldn’t be afraid.”
But the celebrity businessman is not taking the accusations lightly. He has filed a defamation lawsuit in a Kenyan court, seeking an immediate injunction to silence Ati and bar her from making further public allegations.
Court documents, obtained by reporters, show that Cubana Chief Priest is asking the court to:
Declare the case urgent and hear it ex parte (in his absence initially).
Issue a temporary injunction restraining Hellen Ati from publishing, sharing, or disseminating defamatory content.
Protect his constitutional rights under Kenya’s Constitution, citing Articles 28, 31, 33(3), and 35(2).
“Pending the hearing and determination of this suit, a temporary injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the Defendant/Respondent from publishing, uploading, sharing, or disseminating defamatory content against the Plaintiff/Applicant,” part of the application reads.
The lawsuit is grounded in provisions of Kenya’s Civil Procedure Rules (2010) and the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act (2018).
Despite the legal action, Hellen Ati has not issued any formal legal response, limiting her reaction to social media jabs and public taunts.
Cubana Chief Priest, known for his luxury lifestyle and affiliations with top Nigerian celebrities, has consistently denied any connection to Ati or her child, dismissing the paternity claims as baseless and damaging to his reputation.
The court is yet to fix a date for the hearing.
