Collect your PVCs, vote wisely, Kurfi tasks Nigerians

A political activist and senatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for Katsina Central Zone, Malam Mustapha Mohammed Kurfi, has urged Nigerians to vote rightly in the March/February general elections.

He specifically tasked people of his zone to go out and collect their Permanent Voter Cards, saying that is where their power in determining the country’s direction lies.

A statement by the management of Hausa Daily Post, made available to Blueprint in Abuja Monday, quoted Kurfi as saying this Sunday while receiving the award of honour presented to him by the media organisation at his campaign office in Katsina, Katsina state.

The aspiring senator bemoaned the state of the nation in general and Katsina state in particular, saying the people should vote rightly if they truly wanted a change.

“The election will be coming up in less than 50 days or thereabout from now. The nation is passing through some difficult moments and desires swift change in the way we do things. And to change things, we must vote wisely. This is only possible if we all have our PVCs because that is where our power lies as citizens of this country.

“An opportunity is offering itself to give the nation the desired change and we must not allow this elude us. That is why I am calling on Nigerians, particularly the people of my state- Katsina- to go all out to collect the voter cards and use it wisely.

“As a blessed nation, we can’t afford to be suffering when we are blessed with every endowment one can think of from human to natural resources. This is why people like us are offering ourselves in the service of our fatherland,” he said.

Kurfi, who said he was not contesting just for the fun of it, called on people of his zone to “to give me their votes. I am prepared to serve them better and change the face of legislative representation as never done before.”

He thanked the Hausa Daily Post “for considering me worthy of the award. It is just a call to further service at ensuring better life for my people and humanity as a whole.”
