Deji Adeyanju Mocks Tinubu’s Promise of Leading Nigerians to the ‘Promised Land’

Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has mocked President Bola Tinubu over his recent statement promising to take Nigerians to the “promised land.” In a sarcastic response to Tinubu’s New Year message, Adeyanju took to X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Please drop me; I don’t want to follow Nigerians to where you are taking them. Thank you very much.”

The President had declared his commitment to leading the country to the promised land, assuring Nigerians of his administration’s determination and capability. Tinubu made the statement while addressing a gathering at his Ikoyi residence in Lagos, highlighting the support his administration has received from the National Assembly over the past 19 months.

However, Adeyanju’s reaction reflects his skepticism about the promises made by the President, questioning whether the country is truly headed in the right direction under Tinubu’s leadership. The activist’s mockery follows a series of critical remarks aimed at the government, expressing concerns over the country’s direction and the welfare of Nigerians under the current administration.
