#EndBadGovernance: Ezekwesili outlines three actions Tinubu and governors need to take

Former Minister of Education Obiageli Ezekwesili has advised President Bola Tinubu and the 36 state governors on necessary actions to address Nigeria’s current crisis amid ongoing nationwide protests against hunger, now entering their sixth day.

Ezekwesili criticized the governors for their attempts to suppress and intimidate citizens rather than addressing their grievances. She argued that such actions have only intensified the protesters’ resolve.

In a recent post on X, Ezekwesili urged Tinubu, governors, and other political leaders to use the remaining opportunity to effectively respond to their citizens’ demands for better governance. She emphasized the importance of engaging directly with protesters, listening to their concerns, and presenting actionable plans to address both immediate and long-term issues.

She also called for a national reset to tackle the deeper structural problems facing Nigeria, suggesting that the current crisis could be transformed into a chance for significant reform. Ezekwesili stressed that the choice to act decisively and constructively remains in the hands of Nigeria’s leaders.
