Enugu Police Commissioner Decorates 92 Newly-Promoted Officers, Urges Diligence and Integrity

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mr. Kanayo Uzuegbu, has officially decorated 92 newly-promoted senior officers within the state command. The officers, recently elevated to higher ranks by the Police Service Commission, include 20 Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), 18 Superintendents of Police (SP), and 54 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP).

During the decoration ceremony on Thursday in Enugu, the Commissioner of Police congratulated the officers and emphasized that their promotions should be seen as both a recognition of their past efforts and a call for greater responsibility. He tasked them to be diligent and focused in the discharge of their duties, urging them to use their new ranks as motivation to excel in their roles.

“The elevation to your new ranks comes with greater expectations. It is now your responsibility to lead by example, maintain professionalism, and carry out your duties with discretion and commitment,” Uzuegbu stated.

Members of the Command’s Management team, including DCP Olasoji Akinbayo (in charge of Operations), DCP Adebowale Lawal (in charge of State CID), and ACP Hope Isiani-Okereke (in charge of Finance and Administration), also congratulated the officers and advised them to uphold the integrity expected of their new positions.

In response, CSP Chidozie Okebugwu, who is the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Abakaliki Road Division, spoke on behalf of the newly-promoted officers. He expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, for recommending them for promotion and thanked the Police Service Commission for approving the elevation.

Okebugwu also appreciated the guidance of the Commissioner of Police and his management team, assuring them that the newly-promoted officers would uphold the trust placed in them and strive to exceed expectations in their new roles.

Family members, friends, and associates of the officers also attended the decoration ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the officers’ careers.
