Explosion at our Rivers secretariat, act of terrorism, APP says, urges investigation

The leadership of the Action People’s Party, APP, at the national level has condemned devastating explosion at its Secretariat in Rivers State.

The National chairman of the party Uchenna Nnadi, described the development as worrisome.

Nnadi spoke in Port Harcourt after inspecting the level of damage at the party Secretariat in company of the State Chairman of the party, Sunny Wokekoro, and the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Olatunji Disu.

Nnadi described the development as an act against democracy, calling on President Bola Tinubu and security agencies to ensure that those behind the act are fished out and punished.

The national chairman of the party also stated that those behind the attack were afraid of the APP in the forthcoming local government election.

NNADI said: “It is really a sad day for democracy. In its strongest term, the act of bombing of secretariat in Port Harcourt is a heinous act. It is an act of terrorism. It is treasonable. We thank God Almighty who spared the lives of our members.

“Immediately our members left the office after a strategic meeting in the dead of the night this heinous act was carried out. We have heard issues of bombing.

“We are calling on the President. The heads of security agencies to go after these criminal’s elements whose goal is to instill fearing in our people and cause violence in Rivers State.”

But, the Chairman of the APP in the state, Nwokekoro said the party is not deterred by the threats.

He added that the party in the state has received many PDP members and ready for the forth coming local government election.
