Former NBA Abuja Treasurer, Chigbo Princess Mediatrix, Killed in Suspected One-Chance Attack Along Kubwa Road
Panic and grief swept through parts of Abuja on Thursday morning following the discovery of the lifeless body suspected to be that of Chigbo Princess Mediatrix Esq, a former Treasurer of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch, along the Kubwa Expressway.
The body was reportedly found by an early-morning commuter near the Dawaki axis, opposite Gwarimpa Estate, while residents were heading to their various destinations. Early indications suggest that the deceased may have been attacked by suspected “one chance” criminals, a notorious group of mobile armed robbers known for targeting commuters on Abuja roads.
Sources at the scene disclosed that personal belongings believed to be hers were found scattered nearby. Her bag was recovered a short distance from the body, raising strong suspicions that she may have been robbed before being forcibly ejected from a moving vehicle.
The tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the legal profession and the wider Abuja community, reigniting concerns over the rising menace of one-chance syndicates operating along major expressways in the Federal Capital Territory.
Officers of the Nigeria Police Force, Dawaki Division, have since taken charge of the situation. The body has been evacuated, and a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death is expected to begin.
The police have called on anyone who may have information about the deceased or her relatives to assist with identification. Family members have been advised to report to the Dawaki Police Division, located opposite Gwarimpa Estate on the Kubwa Expressway.
