Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has assured residents that his administration is embracing a governance style inspired by the principles of love and humanity, referring to it as the “Jesus style,” rather than adopting the harsh methods of the Biblical Babylonian approach. He expressed that the love of God is the guiding principle of his leadership.
Governor Fubara made the comments on Tuesday during the inauguration of the newly constructed one-storey twin-building Labour House in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. In his speech, he emphasized that while not every need could be met, his administration focuses on providing a human face to governance, ensuring that love takes precedence in all decisions and actions.
“We are not running the government like Nebuchadnezzar’s time. We are not running it like the Babylonians,” Fubara stated. “We are running it with the Jesus style where love takes the lead over everything. Love should be at the forefront and behind everything we do.”
Reflecting on the political challenges that marked his administration, Fubara shared that despite the turbulence, he remained committed to prioritizing the welfare of the people of Rivers State. This focus, he said, has led to unprecedented industrial harmony, with workers feeling more valued and motivated to increase their productivity.
Under his leadership, Fubara aims to foster a compassionate, inclusive environment in which the people’s well-being is central to all governance decisions.
