[FULL LIST] NBA SPIDEL Constitutes Litigation Committee To Drive Public Interest And Rights Cases

The Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA SPIDEL) has established a litigation committee to spearhead public interest cases.

SPIDEL Leadership announced on Tuesday that the 13-member panel comprising prominent legal experts will coordinate litigation efforts on cases pursued by NBA state branches.

According to Publicity Secretary S. B. Saleh, the committee has full authority to designate a secretary, maintain advocacy standards, and remove underperforming members. The panel aims to ensure a unified litigation strategy for cases related to SPIDEL’s mission of advancing public interest and development law.

Senior lawyers on the NBA-SPIDEL board will serve as consultants to the litigation team.

Committee members include Kunle Edun, Francis Ogunbowale, Bawa Yakubu, Daniel Kip, Felix Akpowowo, Isaac Ogbah, Kunle Adeniyi, Abdullahi Karaye, Esther Jimoh, and Ali Jamilu, Vincent Adodo, Faith Amarachi Okpara,  Kingsley Awuka, Anita Omolu

SPIDEL Chairman Mr. Saleh expressed confidence the body of experienced lawyers will significantly further objectives and warned inadequate performance would not be accepted. He declared an unwavering commitment to legal excellence.

Established in 2021, NBA-SPIDEL focuses on using law to promote sustainable development, social justice and human rights. The new litigation arm signals intent to more aggressively pursue public interest matters including potentially controversial issues.
