Ganduje Confirms Tinubu’s 8-Year Tenure Before Power Shifts North in 2031
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has affirmed that President Bola Tinubu will complete two terms in office, marking eight years for the southern region before power shifts to the north in 2031. Ganduje, who is a former governor of Kano State, made this statement in Abuja during a meeting with the Tinubu Northern Youth Forum.
Ganduje lauded the group for its efforts in organizing and collecting valuable election data, noting their vital role in public education, particularly on the controversial tax reform agenda. He emphasized the importance of public engagement in ensuring government policies are understood and supported by the masses.
He further stated, “The APC is committed to ensuring every zone has representation and that the current government, led by Tinubu, will continue to serve both the South and North equitably. Following the eight years of southern leadership, we anticipate power will return to the North in 2031.”
Praising the forum’s proactive approach toward the 2027 elections, Ganduje assured that the APC would offer any necessary support to ensure its success. “We support the inclusion of all regions, and we are confident that your continued work will help in realizing the vision of the president’s agenda,” he said.
Ganduje also received another group, the Tinubu Young Generation Forum, which he praised for promoting the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda. Reflecting on the challenges faced before Tinubu’s presidency, he expressed optimism that reforms are already yielding positive results, particularly in the economy. “The road to recovery was long and difficult, but we are beginning to see the benefits of the president’s policies, and we are hopeful for continued progress,” Ganduje concluded.
