GDP Growth In Nigeria Hasn’t Reflected On Peoples’ Lives – Experts

Following the recent reported increase of Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), two economic experts have argued that GDP growth in Nigeria has never really improved the lives of Nigerians.

The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) had in its recent report said that Nigeria’s GDP for the second quarter of 2024 grew by 3.19%.

For Roman Oseghale, a business & economic Intelligence analyst, GDP growth has not reflected on the lives of the people because Nigeria practice what is called assets depletion economy.

In his own submission, Gospel Obele, a research economist said quality of life keep dropping globally because nations are not focusing clearly on the dynamics of productivity.

Both men were guest on Channels Televisions breakfast programme, The Morning Brief on Wednesday.
