“Governor Abba Yusuf Makes Key Appointments to Strengthen Governance in Kano”
Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has announced a series of key appointments and reassignments aimed at improving governance and boosting public service delivery in the state.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the governor introduced several prominent officials. Jamila Magaji-Abdullahi has been appointed as the new Accountant-General of Kano, while Muhammad Yahaya Liman takes on the role of Director of Treasury. Akibu Isa Murtala has been promoted to Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office, where he will be responsible for coordinating administrative functions.
Abubakar Sadiq has been redeployed to serve as Deputy Managing Director of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA), with a focus on improving rural water access and sanitation in the state.
In addition, Governor Yusuf has established a strategic committee aimed at reviving the Kano State Transport Authority (Kano Line). The committee will be chaired by Sa’idu Abdullahi-Shu’aibu and will oversee the review and management of Kano Line’s operations over the next six months. Committee members include Bello Abdul (Ministry of Public Procurement), Abdullahi Tukur (Ministry of Works and Housing), Badamasi Suleiman, and Kabiru Habibu Kyauta (Special Duties), who will serve as the committee’s secretary.
Governor Yusuf urged all appointees to work diligently and with a strong sense of innovation, dedication, and accountability. He emphasized that these appointments and initiatives reflect the administration’s commitment to fostering development, enhancing public service, and positioning Kano State as a leader in effective governance.
